For Lord & Taylor’s 2014 holiday windows, they chose a journey through the imagination, and mansions filled with creatures like mice, cardinals and other animals – plus an enchanted fairytale garden. Check it out.
The birds are actually moving in the scene.
This close-up of one of the mansions from the photo above, shows the cardinals coming out the windows to peek.
Check out the window at night when there’s no glare! Here the mice are climbing the tree to decorate it.
This is the same window as the one above, just the right side of it.

The Fairytale Garden, featuring fairies in glass tubes, changed colors and was fabulously eerie.
The scene changed to green and these little girls were mesmerized.
Stay long enough as you look at this window and you’ll see some of the animals in the frames moving!
The dog and cat at the bottom moved. It was fun to watch. See the video link just below.
You can see a video of the dog and cat above moving , on my Instagram page here.
This shows one of the other moving parts in the scene, the mouse pushing the box top up from underneath.
The other windows weren’t animated and weren’t part of the same storyline.
The small windows had a series of lovely vignettes featuring cardinals and jewelry, as well as some people made out of newsprint (adorable) and jewelry. Worth a look.
This was the corner window, a magical little ballet scene with puppets. Unfortunately there was a lot of glare so it was tough to get a good photo.
