Something the kids and adults will all like: the New York Transit Museum holiday train show. It’s at Grand Central Station’s transit museum store through February 2024.
You’ll find a city within a city, with miniature electric railroads running over, through, and beneath some landmarks you’ll recognize. There are tracks at several levels, great for young kids who can see many of them from their own eye level.
The New York Transit Museum holiday train show is back after COVID. It has not been seen since prior to the pandemic.
This features Lionel model trains (and Thomas the Tank engine trains too) motoring along a 34 foot long, two-level, “O” gauge model train layout.
The trains departing from a miniature replica of Grand Central Terminal (below), and the model trains include Metro-North, Polar Express, and vintage subway train sets.
Look for Easter eggs throughout. Lots of fun tiny things to discover.
